Highlights

WaveLab Go

• WaveLab Go brings renowned audio editing technology as an ARA audio extension; providing advanced editing, repair, and analysis tools inside your workflow. WaveLab Go is described in a separate document. See WaveLab Go.
• You can load WaveLab Go as an audio extension in Cubase. See Activating Extensions for Audio Events.

Folder Track Improvements

• You can now enable a summing group channel for any folder track. This allows for automatic routing, full mixer controls, and expandable automation, plus seamless project and MixConsoleintegration for cleaner, faster mixing. See Organizing Tracks in Folder Tracks.
• You can choose whether to display automation or the data of the contained tracks on folder tracks with enabled group channel. See Event Display – Folders.

More New Features

Chord Symbols and Guitar Tunings

• You can now choose from various chord symbol display presets and let Cubaseinterpret played notes as swung. You can also define custom guitar tunings, including full or partial capo support, with seamless Dorico project compatibility. The Score Editoris described in a separate document. See Score Editor.

Automation Improvements

• The color of the W button clearly indicates the writing status automation data. See Write/Read Automation.
• You can now easily punch out of automation while writing in Auto-Latch or Cross-Overmode. Stop recording automation on individual tracks or all tracks at once with a single click. See Automatic Writing of Automation Data.
• You can quickly copy and paste automation data from all tracks, selected tracks, or individual parameters to other tracks in your project. See Copy Automation to Other Tracks.
• You can switch the Automationpanel between a horizontal and a more compact vertical view. The panel is now also available in the right zone. See Automation Panel.

Selection-Based Editing in Pattern Editor

• Specialized tools introduced in the Pattern Editor toolbar allow for a more optimized workflow. Use the Draw tool to add steps to a pattern and the Step Selection tool to select steps for further editing. See Draw Tool and Step Selection Tool.

Scale-based Chord Pad Presets

• Cubase includes seven new scale-based Chord Pad Presets, including Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Locrian, Major (Ionian), and Natural Minor (Aeolian) for instant harmonic inspiration. See Chord Pads Presets.

Video Export Improvements

• You can now specify the resolution of exported video files and choose an encoding preset that fits your use case. If necessary, you can disable hardware acceleration for video encoding. See Render New Video File Tab.

Event Volume Editing Improvements

• When changing the event volume fader, the deviation from the currently set value is displayed. See Adjusting the Event Volume.

Further Pattern Editor Improvements

• In Drum Mode you can now sort the selected step lanes based on their pitch. See Step Lane Context Menu.
• In Drum Mode you can now reverse the drum sound list. See Step Lane Controls.

Expression Map Improvements

• You can set the Remote Trigger Mode and the Latch Mode for several selected expression maps. See Sound Slots Section.
• You can change the order of selected groups in the Articulations & Mutual Exclusion Groupssection. See Articulations & Mutual Exclusion Groups Section.
